Well here I am, sat at my desk in the Laver buidling on the main campus of the University of Exeter on secondment with the Education Enhancement Unit (EEU). How did this happen?
Well...gather round...
It all started one Firday lunchtime down the pub, Mike, my boss bought us all a drink before dropping the fact that withouth the Distance Learning modules, we needed some more work and there was a project on Open Educational Resources (putting course material out on the web free) at the mainsite and three of our team needed to go.
That was the end of April, now here in mid June we are already a month into our secondment and it's working out well. I can see the Northcott Theatre from my desk and lots of trees, my co-workers are very friendly and the work is going well.
On the work front, it's been a buit of a learning curve with many meetings about Intellectual Property Rights and repositories but a change is as good as a rest as they say!
